Robert Pummill - Hill Country Impressions
SMALL WORKS SHOW AND 82ND BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION
In celebration of his 82nd birthday and a fine art career spanning six decades, Robert Pummill presents a show of Small Works. Robert Pummill is one of the leading contemporary painters of our time. Long known for his depictions of cattle drives and chuck wagons, Pummill has, over the last decade, added to his repertoire by using his enormous talent to capture the land of the Texas Hill Country. Able to render the beauty and diversity of the land, he captures the essence of the area he holds dear. An exhibition this size is a giant undertaking for any artist and we, at InSight Gallery, feel honored to invite you to celebrate this esteemed painter with a show that is a rare treat for collectors.

JEREMY BROWNE - CALVIN LIANG - CLIVE TYLER
PLACES I CALL HOME
In a show that brings together three vastly different landscape artists working in three vastly different mediums, acrylic artist Jeremy Browne, oil painter Calvin Liang and pastelist Clive Tyler each paint the landscapes of their home. The organized visual simplicity of Jeremy Browne's work has struck a cord with collectors. With architectural details, clean lines and often stark contrasts between white snow and dark night skies, Browne's work is the perfect tension between a slightly contemporary presentation and a very traditional, representational subject matter. The saturated, vibrant, earthy color pallet found in Calvin Liang's work is instantly familiar as the landscape of the West. Arguably one of the more recognized painters of Monument Valley, Arizona, and the California coastline, his renderings of the towering sandstone buttes, flooded with light, take the viewer on a visual journey to the red-sand desert. Clive Tyler employs masterful usage of color theory and impressionism to create pastels that never fail to delight the eye. From the aspen groves to the foothills of the Colorado mountains, the river streams to the canyons, his rich, crisp strokes convey the experience of a place rather than simply a reproduction. Inspired by nature and the peace within the wilderness, Tyler's work will beckon one to the outdoors, be it literally or figuratively.
Reception with the artists: Friday, April 6th 6-8pm.
