Fall Group Show
with focus on Clive R. Tyler

September 2016

InSight Gallery kicks off the season with our annual Fall Group show featuring new works from all sixty of our acclaimed gallery artists. With so many fresh pieces coming into the gallery it is an exciting time for a visit to Fredericksburg! This years Fall Show will have a special focus on pastel artist Clive R. Tyler.

Tyler's background in classical oil painting and graphic design contribute to his unique impressionist style with pastel. A Signature Member of the American Impressionist Society, Tyler received the 2015 Best in Show Award at their national show. From his bold landscapes to his captivating wildlife and floral paintings, he encapsulates the subtleties of changing light and air throughout the four seasons. He aims to offer the experience of the hiking trail, bison, garden peonies, oak trees, evoking the viewer’s own memories and emotions. Tyler’s guiding principle is “to create, not duplicate.”

Join us in the gallery on Saturday, September 3rd from 10 am until 12 pm for an artists demonstration by Clive R. Tyler. An accomplished teacher, Clive will discuss pastel techniques, color theory and his impressionistic style during his painting demonstration that will be enjoyed by fellow artists and art lovers alike. Demonstration is free and open to the public.

Lindsay Scott
There is a Leopard in My Living Room - Solo Exhibition

October 2016

African wildlife artist and New Zealand resident Lindsay Scott unites her two passions, art and science, in her stunning portraits of wild animals from around the globe.  Scott’s solo exhibition will feature iconic Texas images of longhorn cattle alongside the majestic African animals for which she is so renowned.

Lindsay Scott’s experiences as illustrator, botanical researcher and biologist, all contribute to her keen eye and deep love for the people and animals she paints.  Able to capture both the dynamic activity and the more tranquil moments of her subjects, Scott presents her viewers with a firsthand experience of the drama and spirit of African—and North American—wildlife.

Nancy Bush
Interpretations - Solo Exhibition

October 18 - November 8, 2016

Fredericksburg native and tonalist painter Nancy Bush brings her serene and inviting landscapes to InSight Gallery for a mid-month solo exhibition. Known for her ability to connect the viewer to nature's tranquility, Bush portrays the landscape of the Texas Hill Country and the mountains of New Mexico in her trademark soft, layered palette that soothes the senses and provides a calming retreat. Aiming not simply to replicate the landscape, Bush seeks to convey the atmosphere and mood of a fleeting, quiet moment.

First Friday Art Walk Fredericksburg

The first Friday of EVERY month

Fifteen (and growing) fine art galleries have joined together to bring art and art lovers together through Texas hospitality. Galleries will be open until 8 pm so that visitors can have time to visit and shop the various events and exhibits that are planned throughout the day and evening.  Join us for strolls through the historic shopping district enjoying beautiful art and wine!
