1949 -

John Coleman is a multi-faceted artist working proficiently in the genres of sculpture, oils and charcoal. His love of history and philosophy have enabled him to develop a profound connection to the subjects he portrays.

Always an advocate for traditional art, John was pleased to demo at the first FACE event held in Miami Beach, Florida last year.  The Fine Art Conference & Expo (FACE) was a gathering of talented artists from around the world whose purpose is to bring focus back to traditional art.

John has received many accolades and awards and is honored that his life-size sculpture of The Healer received the Jackie Coles Buyers’ Choice Award at the Prix de West. In 2019, he will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Desert Caballeros Museum in Wickenburg, AZ in January and was chosen to receive the first Artist of Excellence Award at The Booth Museum in Cartersville, GA in February.

John is past president of the Cowboy Artists of America and has served on the board of The National Sculpture Society in New York City.  In his hometown of Prescott, AZ John has served on the board of The Preservation Commission, The Phippen Museum and is a current board member of The Granite Mountain Hotshot Memorial Partnership. 

John is an Emeritus member of the Cowboy Artists of America, Fellow member of the National Sculpture Society and Signature member of the California Art Club.
