KAY NORTHUP

Biography

Kay Northup is a native Texan who lived in Jackson Hole Wyoming for forty years and has returned to her Hill Country Texas roots to pursue painting from new vantage points.

She has painted full time for twenty years, both plein air and studio work, using subjects from travels around the world. Kay has studied with and been mentored by prominent artists such as Greg McHuron, Bob Kuhn, Bill Reese and Hollis Williford. Her influences are wide and varied, constantly fed by visits to major museum collections and study with other, talented painters.

Kay’s work is featured in many major collections and juried shows. Her devotion to painting subjects from life, using clear honest color and composition and design reflects her “passion for the process” and lifelong love of oil painting.
